Use Everyday Objects

  • Snack Math: Use small snacks like crackers, grapes, or cereal to fill the number frame. For example, ask your child to "fill 5 spaces with grapes" or "make 7 with crackers."
  • Toys and Buttons: Use small toys, buttons, or colorful pom-poms to fill the frames. Kids can count and place their favorite objects while exploring numbers.

Movement Activities

  • Active Counting: Place a number frame on the floor and ask your child to jump, clap, or do a fun action the number of times needed to fill the frame.
  • Treasure Hunt: Hide counters around the room and have your child find and place them on the frame.

Color and Craft

  • DIY Frames: Let your child draw or decorate their own number frames with markers, stickers, or stamps before using them.
  • Playdough Frames: Make a playdough number frame and use small playdough balls or shapes as counters.

Interactive Games

  • Roll and Fill: Use dice to roll a number, then place that many objects on the frame. You can use a single die or two dice for adding numbers together.
  • Spin and Place: Use a spinner with numbers (or make one from cardboard). Spin and place that many counters on the frame.
  • Race to Fill: Each player gets a frame. Take turns rolling a die and adding objects to your frame. The first to fill their frame wins.
